i'm planning on publishing the stories i've made so far. Don't worry, the genre will not only be yaoi or shounen-ai, but i guess the air will be filled with love(?), haha
I'll have to short-out what's to let out, though. so, It's gonna take a while.
===Shiranai Monogatari #1===
A Wife's Monologue
written by HinaTa
Why do people even bother married?
I’m the one want to ask myself that the most,
I can’t play with my friends as much anymore, especially guys.
Wherever I go, I have to get permission and have to get back before dinner time. Well, I got picked up
occasionally, but
I mean, in my case, I’ve married to a handsome-loaded thug for 5 years now. Still, why was it again I married him?
Ring~
Ring~
My cell phone rings loudly from the room. I left my cooking in the kitchen and head to the bedroom. As soon as I picked the call there is a sighing sound from the other side of the phone.
“What took you so long?”
“I was cooking in the kitchen, I left the cell phone in the bedroom, is something the matter?”
“I will be home a bit later than usual, around 12. I got to finish some extra work in the office.”
“Ok. I will get the bath ready by that time,”
“There is no need for that, just go to sleep, I can do that by myself.”
“…”
“Hello?”
“Ok. Then, I’ll hang up.”
“Ok.”
BIP!
BLUSH!
I threw the cell phone to the bed.
“Seriously!!! Arrrgh! I hate him so much!!!”
We live at a very high class apartment in the middle of the city. If he wants, we can change house every once a week. I can buy anything I want at any price. And he will surely get anything I told him I want too.
He is spendthrift, yes. But not the least bit romantic…
He is also really unsociable
The way he treat me is none other as a partner. Well, yeah… we sleep together and he is good. But that’s just all there is to it.
Seriously, what was so great about him that I just agreed to marry him?
Even so, while complaining here and there, I just can’t leave him alone.
*
“I’m home…”
“She really deep asleep, huh…”
“Ah, welcome back!”
I took his handbag and took off his coat.
“You must have been tired, right? I’ve prepared the bath, or do you want to eat first?”
“You… weren’t you sleeping?”
“No, I haven’t felt sleepy so I’m working on some assignments from work.”
“Then, I’ll take the bath,”
“Yeah, please do. I’ll wait in the dining room. You must be hungry, right? At least, I am.”
“Yeah”
*
He takes a bite of my deep fried shrimp.
“Is it good?”
“This is bad…” he said out of nowhere.
“What?!”
“People said that you can separate from a beautiful wife, but you can’t separate with a wife that cooks well,”
I’m stonned. As if we were newlyweds I suddenly feel embarrassed and happy at the same time. I can’t hide my embarrassment and blushing furiously. He happens to look at me and looking how flustered I am, he smiles.
“It’s been a long time since the last time I saw you this cute,” he said.
“You… you are drunk, ain’t you?”
“Well, I took some booze,”
See. There is no way the normal him will ever say those kinds of mushy words.
“Then, just go straight to the bed, I’m going to clean the plates first. You have an early day tomorrow, right?”
“Hm? Do I?”
“Tomorrow is Friday, you said you have an early day every Friday right?”
“Really? It’s been a routine so I don’t really realize it. When did I say that?”
“A long time ago? I don’t really remember the time, it was around the time when we first got married,”
“You remembered?”
“Shouldn’t I be?”
“I guess. I’ll just wait you here. Let’s go to the bed together.”
*
We got on the bed together. But it doesn’t seem like any of us is sleepy.
“You know, I’ve been thinking recently,”
“About?”
“Our marriage live is really boring… you see, both of us just as unsociable. And I seem to only meet your physical needs. It must have been boring, right? Living with me that is…”
“Well, it is to some extent…” I said.
“…”
“The first few months after married to you, every night waiting for you to come home, I was full of anticipation. But as the time goes by, those have become a routine and it doesn’t feel that fun anymore. At first, even holding hands with you will make my heart race. But recently, even going all the way is something normal and ordinary. Seems like people grow tired of each other as the time goes by, and you are absolutely unromantic, and boring, and stupid, and cold-hearted, and-”
“Okay, I get it. You will hurt my pride if you say more than this. Let’s just get to sleep.”
He turns his back against me.
“… But I don’t think it’s really that bad, living with you that is,”
“…”
“You give me a nice house to live in, you give me sense of safety, and you comply with everything I need. At the very least, I’m still grateful that you are the one that married to me…”
“I see. That’s good.”
His ear turns red a bit it’s so cute
“I’ll be the only one that’s capable of comply with everything you need, marry me…”
“Now that I mention it, your proposal was also saying the same thing,”
He turns around and faces me.
“Really?”
“That time, with a straight face, you say ‘I’ll be the one that’s capable of comply with everything you need, marry me…’ I thought you were joking,”
I smiled.
“Now that I remembered it, I’m happy.”
“It’s been exactly 5 years already,”
“Yeah. Time flies real quick huh,”
“Happy 5th marriage anniversary…” he said.
He suddenly takes out a small box from under his pillow and gave it to me. He opens it for me. And, in there, inside the box, there’s a handmade bracelet with wooden and crystal-like beads and white-gold based plate as its center. When I take it out from the box, I found something written under the plate, my name and his, with our marriage date.
“This is… a typical Hawaiian bracelet, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. There is a legend there about the bracelet. It’s a rather girly story, but you like this kind of things. So, I thought, this might be a good present.”
“It really is, when did you get this? You don’t happen to go to Hawaii to get this, do you?”
“No, unfortunately, I don’t have the time. I specifically contact the craftsman and asked him to make a pair. Then, he sent it via express delivery. You like it?”
“Duh, of course. I want to wear it, put it on my wrist.”
He put it on my wrist
“It suits you,”
“I’m happy,”
“That’s good.”
“No wonder you were drinking. But I don’t prepare anything for you.”
“It’s okay” he said. “In fact, you don’t have to prepare anything. Going home everyday knowing you’ll be there waiting for me is more than enough already.”
“You suddenly utter so many mushy words, you know?”
He laughed.
“Thank you.” I said.
He kissed my forehead.
“Having children around maybe pretty good too, huh…” he said.
“About that…”
“You suddenly did unusual things, so I kind of forgot to tell you… I’m actually pregnant.”
He went blank for a while
“Seriously?!”
“Yeah. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said it’s already 4 weeks”
“Why didn’t you ask me to come with you?”
“Well, you were so busy, I don’t really want to,”
“It’s okay to be clingy once in a while. Let’s visit our parents this week end.”
“I have told them already, my parents and yours.”
“You told them but you didn’t tell me?”
“You were so busy,”
He went speechless
“Sorry,”
“Let’s make a small garden party at my parent’s house. Invite your parents and relatives. I’ll call my parents tomorrow.”
“Okay. It’s nice to have a talk like this. Let’s do this every day before go to sleep.”
“What if it got boring?”
“Then, let’s change it into wrestling,” I said jokingly.
“Haven’t we done it almost every day already, wrestling that is…”
I felt that I got what he means and then we laughed together on the bed as the night swept us into a deep sleep.
Somehow, I seem to recall the reason I married to him…
